Revolving door
Yours truly returned to Healdsburg late last night after three days of reporting some stories in Western Washington State. Tuesday night, Powergirl is the one to take off—she’ll be in our hometown of New York City for four days starting Wednesday morning.
This, of course, means that L and I will be flying solo for pretty much the rest of the week. It will be the longest we’ve ever spent without Momma around.
I’ve got mixed feelings about this milestone. On the one hand, I’m going to miss my wife terribly; she’s my best friend and, quite frankly, life is just more fun when she’s around. On the other hand, however, I’m eager to see how L and I do, and am excited about having her and all of her cuteness to myself.
We don’t have much on the agenda. We’ll probably hit the county fair again on Wednesday, and Grandma is coming up to join us for a trip to the wild animal park on Friday. Our nanny also is coming for 3.5 hours on Wednesday and Thursday so I can squeeze in a bit of work.
Otherwise, I’m expecting the baby and I will do the usual: Playing around the house, hanging in the plaza downtown and the occasional trip to the pool at the gym (in case it gets beastly hot).
I can’t think of a better way to spend a few days. Bring on the bachelorhood.
